Christian Louboutin has to be ''isolated from everything'' when he designs his shoes as he can't have any distractions.

Christian Louboutin has to be "isolated from everything" when he designs his shoes.

The footwear designer says he needs to be on his own when he is creating his shoes as it helps to inspire him.

He said: "I have to be alone to design, I'm quite spoilt. I can't do it in cities: I have to be isolated from everything. I need to be in an environment I'm familiar with so that I'm not looking around and getting distracted.

"I always design my winter collections somewhere cold, like my house in the country or France, or in Portugal. And I do my summer season in summer spots like my boat on the Nile."

Christian - whose designs are a favourite with the likes of Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce Knowles - says he is so obsessed about shoes he dreams about them.

He said: "I dream about shoes. They often look silly in reality, but it happens all the time - I see them while I'm asleep and I wake up, just desperate to recreate them."
